The story so far…
With an Honours degree in Animation, majoring in Interactive Games and Media, and a decade of expertise, Tyler bridges creativity and technical skill like no other. From designing captivating games to producing stunning animations, soundscapes, and digital art, Tyler’s work spans 2D and 3D artistry, game design, programming, and audio engineering.
In parallel, Tyler steps into the music world as Shamplooh, an artist, music producer and sound engineer collaborating with artists across Aotearoa and internationally.
After a year and a half of navigating challenges in the New Zealand gaming industry, Tyler took the bold step of founding Double Time Games! A game development studio built on innovation and determination. Fueled by passion and vision, Tyler is on a mission to leave a lasting mark on the gaming landscape while continuing to push boundaries across disciplines.

Mac and the Creamstalk
A 3D collect-a-thon platformer I made for my Honours project. I developed all the skills and pipelines needed to create 3D games.
Based on the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, a gigantic creamstalk erupts on Mac's block covering the city in hair cream, after an unfortunate incident with a bottle of “miracle hair grow”. Mac must clean up the city before his mother; the mayor’s upcoming election.
I wanted to make a reimagining of this tale for African-descended children. Growing up, I rarely saw a video character outside of fighting games that looked similar to me.
Programs used
Unreal Engine 4, Blender, Photoshop, Ableton and Adobe Premier Pro.

Deadline Dash
A 2D time-based platformer I made during the last semester of the third year of my degree.
You play as one of three struggling uni students having to collect the answers to your assignment scattered throughout each level. Collecting answers will raise your grade. To clear each stage you have to obtain a C grade or higher and make it to the university building before the deadline. If this wasn't enough pressure, you must avoid the various dogs from eating your assignment before you hand it in.

Amistad
A 2D beat ’em up I made for Global Game Jam 2023.
The GGJ theme this year was "roots." My game is loosely based on the happenings of the Amistad. African natives were kidnapped from eastern Africa and sold into the Spanish slave trade. Purchased by two Spaniards, shackled and loaded aboard the Amistad. Three days into the journey, a slave named Sengbe Pieh broke out of his shackles and released the other Africans. They revolted, killing most of the crew and returned the ship to Africa. You play as Sengbe as you attempt to take control of the vessel.

Heartbreak
A collaboration game between Sebastian Barber and myself at Global Game Jam 2020.
We had two days to build a game with the theme being "repair." Our game premise was on stealth and non-violence. You play as the vampiric main character detested by all. You must avoid combat if possible, If you chose to strike down an NPC you lose a heart permanently. Once an NPC has spotted you they will alert others within the area, forming a angry mob and beating you to death. You must attempt to make it to the evil core (the source of everyone's hatred toward you) and destroy it in hopes of repairing the relationship with the villagers.

Armed with a Diploma in Audio Engineering and over a decade of experience, Tyler has worked with YouTube personality Ernesto Lopez Jr. and professional Street Fighter V player and commentator RobTV, creating intro, outro, and audio tracks for their projects. He now composes all the music for the video games he creates and for DoubleTime Games
